Whiplash
Whiplash is a type of neck injury that occurs when your head suddenly moves backward and then forward, kind of like the cracking of a whip. This movement can strain the muscles, ligaments, and sometimes even the nerves in your neck. The symptoms are different for everybody, but often include:
Neck pain and stiffness
Headaches (usually starting at the base of your skull)
Pain in the shoulders or upper back
Dizziness or trouble focusing
Sometimes tingling in the arms or hands
You don’t have to have obvious bruising or swelling to be dealing with whiplash. Even a small accident or sudden twist can trigger these symptoms.
-
Car accidents
When your vehicle is struck, the sudden movement can cause the body to jerk forward and back, commonly leading to whiplash, sprains, strains, disc injuries, or back injuries.
Even minor collisions can affect the spine, muscles, and joints, disrupting normal function. Without proper care, these injuries can linger and lead to chronic discomfort or limited mobility.
That’s why it’s important to see a car accident chiropractor ASAP after a collision, even if you don’t feel immediate pain.
Early care helps identify misalignments or soft tissue damage before they worsen.

Headaches / Migraines
There isn’t just one cause for headaches, which is why treatment can feel frustrating. Sometimes tension builds up in the neck and shoulders from poor posture, heavy bags, or hunching over phones and computers. Other times, it’s stress, dehydration, hormonal changes, or even certain foods that act as triggers.
Migraines are often more complicated. They usually involve a mix of nerve signals, blood vessel changes, and genetics. Common signs include pounding pain on one side, sensitivity to light or sound, nausea, or seeing visual disturbances called “auras.” If you’ve ever had to cancel plans or miss work because of a migraine, you know how disruptive it can be.

Sciatica
The symptoms of sciatica can vary widely, but they typically involve pain that radiates from the lower back down one leg. The pain may feel sharp, burning, or electric, and it can worsen with movement or prolonged sitting. In some cases, individuals may experience numbness or tingling sensations in the leg or foot, and muscle weakness can develop. Sciatica may affect one or both sides of the body, though it is usually more prominent on one side.
